We act as the ideal base to discover ‘The Secret kingdom’ that is Northumberland’. Within 30 minutes drive on our quiet Northumbrian road, you can easily reach the best that the coastline has to offer, as well as the Scottish border country. We are en-route of the St Cuthberts Way, which runs Melrose to Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and are overlooked by the magnificent Cheviot hills, we are a stones throw from the National Park, and have some of the best walking country in the land, we can organise a guide to take you around the ‘best bits’ and fill you in with the history surrounding the area, or you may prefer to explore alone.

Ashley, and his wife Elaine run the kitchen and Restaurant, with the very best of local produce. Glendale Lamb, North Sea ‘Line Caught’ mackerel & cod, Northumbrian Beef, Doddington Dairy Ice-Cream to name but a few, all prepared and served with care.

Surrounded by top class golf courses, you can base yourself at the Tankerville and play a different course each day, we can arrange for you to go gliding, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, or whatever you may fancy.
