Donington Park Farmhouse
|
Description
The 17th Century Farmhouse hotel stands in 20 acres of land and offers spacious country style bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities. Six bedrooms are on the ground floor, one of these has been adapted for wheelchair users. All our bedrooms are non-smoking and have free use of broadband internet access.
To relax there is the resident's bar which has a log fire in the winter months, and a cosy lounge, which has breathtaking views of Breedon Hill.
The Dining room is open each evening for residents, the food served is not pretentious and is traditional farmhouse fare, using their own and local ingredients where suitable; Venison from the hotel's own deer herd, pheasant in season from the local shoot, vegetables grown in the Melbourne Valley, and their own eggs for the breakfast table.
The hotel caters for small business meetings in the Hitching Room, and in the new Stag Room. Larger meetings are held in the Threshing Barn. The Barn complex is a popular venue for marriages, wedding receptions, private parties and company functions. Another speciality is Barn Dances, Hog Roasts and all-year round Barbecues. The Deer Park runs approved training courses in Deer Management and Deer Stalking, operated under controlled conditions, for those who may want to take part.
